The Science of Sound Therapy

Jesse Hanson explains how sound therapy works to help heal those suffering from depression or anxiety. Watch the video or read the transcript below.

Sound therapy is a unique therapeutic intervention that integrates the use of specially tuned instruments to create shifts in the human nervous system.

For a long time science has shown us that at a cellular level we operate through vibration. All of our different molecules of all the different cells are vibrating inside our bodies.

What sound therapy does is it capitalizes on that science and helps fine-tune the instrument of the human body. For example, if someone is in an anxious state of mind, their cellular vibrations are very high.

If that person were to get sound therapy, the music and the instruments will actually speak to the cells in a way that helps those cells start to come down and to slow down, and the result is that the person feels more relaxed, a lot more grounded, a lot more calm. Sound therapy is a very special way of working with anxiety and it can also be effective with depression as well.

At Helix Healthcare Group, we offer individual and group sound therapy sessions. These sessions are especially helpful for people dealing with anxiety. In addition, we offer programs that integrate sound therapy with acupuncture, psychotherapy, and hypnotherapy.

When all of these interventions are combined together, a person is able to move through things much more quickly and gracefully than if they’re just doing psychotherapy alone.
